Почтовые индексы Лондона
Почтовые индексы (Postcode) в Лондоне имеют то же самое значение, что и в России. Главным отличием является то, что в России – это шестизначное число (напр. 127000), а в Лондоне набор букв и цифр (напр. EC2M 7QH). Когда будете выписывать очередной директ в Англию, вспомните о том что сейчас прочтете.
Как читать почтовый индекс Лондона
Чтобы понять, как читать почтовые коды, надо знать как по-английски называются 4 части света.
Юг – South,
Север — North,
Запад — West,
Восток — East,
Центр по-английский — Centre.
Соответственно этому, первая часть индекса начинаются с первой буквы части света. То есть указывает в какой стороне Лондона, находится адрес.
Почтовый индекс Лондона примеры:
Давайте посмотрим на пример почтового индекса столицы Англии и попробуем определить, где они находятся.
W10 6HJ — запад,
NW6 7QL — северо-запад,
E1 1BY — восток,
SE18 6EU — юго-восток,
N16 6YA — север,
WC2N 6RQ — центрально-западный,
EC1Y 1BE — центрально-восточный.
До середины 19 века также были индексы: Южный (S) и Северо-Восточный (NE). Потом они были отменены и теперь заменяются аббревиатурой близлежащих городов (например, CR в Кройдоне (Croydon) или EN в Энфилде (Enfield)
Далее, за буквами следуют одна или две цифры.
Эти цифры первоначально присваивались в алфавитном порядке к близлежащему административному центру.
Например, почтовый индекс
E1 в Олдгейте (Aldgate),
E2 в Бефнал Грин (Bethnal Green),
E3 Боу (Bow),
E5 Клаптон (Clapton),
E8 Долстон (Dalston),
E9 Хакни (Hackney) и так далее.
Примеры адресов в Лондоне с индексом (на английском)
В начале пишется название объекта, потом номер дома, за ним следует улица, город, и только в самом конце — почтовый индекс:
