Syntax [ ]
Arguments [ ]
Specifies the position at which to create the particle. If not specified, defaults to the position of the executor.
Must be a three-dimensional coordinates with floating-point number elements. Accepts tilde and caret notations. Specifies the size of the 3-dimensional cuboid volume to spawn particles in, centered on position
Specifies the speed of the particle. Does not work on all particles (Example: angry_villager ). Must be a Single-precision floating-point format number. And it must be between 0.0 and 340,282,356,779,733,661,637,539,395,458,142,568,447.(9) (inclusive).
Specifies the number of particle effects to create. If 0, it results in a single particle. See the exceptions on for why having a of 0 can be useful. Must be a 32-bit integer number. And it must be between 0 and 2,147,483,647 (inclusive).
Allows control of which player should view this particle instead of everyone in the viewing range of the particle. Must be a player name, a target selector or a UUID. And the target selector must be of player type.
Result [ ]

Examples
Example in Java Edition (PC/Mac) 1.13, 1.14, 1.15 and 1.16
To create the bubble_column_up particles 9000 times (at a speed of 16) in a 8x8x8 block radius from the center coordinate (
To create the nautilus particles 5000 times (at a speed of 2) in a 7x3x7 block radius from the center coordinate (-52, 67, 207):
Example in Java Edition (PC/Mac) 1.11 and 1.12
To create the explode particles 2000 times (at a speed of 3) in a 5x5x5 block radius from the center coordinate (
To create the hearts particles 8000 times (at a speed of 1) in a 4x4x4 block radius from the center coordinate (-60, 89, 210):
Example in Pocket Edition (PE)
To create the mobflame_emitter particle at the coordinate (
Example in Xbox One Edition
To create the large_explosion particle at the coordinate (
Example in PS4 Edition
To create the huge_explosion_emitter particle at the coordinate (
Example in Nintendo Switch Edition
To create the sparkler_emitter particle at the coordinate (
Example in Windows 10 Edition
To create the ink_emitter particle at the coordinate (
How to Enter the Command
1. Open the Chat Window
The easiest way to run a command in Minecraft is within the chat window. The game control to open the chat window depends on the version of Minecraft:
2. Type the Command
In this example, we will show the explode particles 2000 times (at a speed of 3) in a 5x5x5 block radius from the center coordinate (
1) with the following command in Minecraft 1.12:
Type the command in the chat window. As you are typing, you will see the command appear in the lower left corner of the game window. Press the Enter key to run the command.
Once the cheat has been entered, the particles will appear at the specified coordinates:
You will see the message Β» Playing effect explode for 2000 times Β» appear in the lower left corner of the game window to indicate that the particles were created.
Congratulations, you have learned how to use the /particle command in Minecraft.

Commands/particle
Contents
